Happy "very late" Easter

After church, we celebrated some more with the Annual Family Easter Games and lots of yummy food!!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Sweet Cathryn!

Cathryn is our little Easter Egg Baby. I was scheduled to have a c-section the Tues after Easter in 2010, but our sweet little girl decided to come early. I went into labor on March 31 about 4pm. We rushed to Tupelo. At 7:00 pm, Cathryn McCurry Lesley was born. She has been a sweet, spunky little blessing!

To celebrate 2...we had a Minnie Mouse party and celebrated with family!

Happy 60th Birthday, Dad!

My dad turned 60 in March. We wanted to do something special for him, but he was insistent on nothing big! My sister, brother, and I all got together and decided to surprise him with a "Family Cooking Class" at Thyme...2 things he really loves: being with family and cooking.

We had a great time..

My sister sent me this devotional this morning. I had to share it! It was exactly what I needed to read. I hope you find it encouraging too.....

Encouragement for Today

Funny thing...our church is reading through the Bible, and yesterday I was reading about God picking David, Samuel anointing David, and then David going back to tend sheep, and later serving King Saul.
Yesterday, I thought about how David waited patiently and allowed God to prepare him for the job of King in his wait....never did I think about what God was really teaching me in these passages.

This devotion helped me apply that story to my own life....Am I being impatient? Am I allowing God to work on me in this time of waiting? Too many times I am impatient. I want things/people to act immediately. I will find peace and rest when I "let God do HIS work in my waiting season".
