Being Used by God...

Well, I finished Kisses From Katie...in about 2 days! It is a MUST read!

At 19 years old, Katie Davis founded Amazima Ministries.

God is really using her to touch so many lives and spread His love throughout the world.

Today, I was able to attend a Women's Conference at FBC: A Woman God Will Use.

Melanie Hill from Dothan, Alabama was the speaker...it was enlightening, encouraging, and refreshing. I really want to be a woman that God will use! Melanie talked about surrendering first and then serving. We must surrender EVERYTHING to God...our hopes, dreams, plans, family, friends, jobs. If I am willing to surrender and be obedient to Him, then God will use me.

"Kisses From Katie"

I have been wanting to read this book I have been hearing about...Kisses From Katie by Katie Davis. I have not been able to find it at the local bookstores...I was a little irritated that no one had it, and I was going to have to pay for shipping (I hate to pay for shipping :)).

I got online and googled the title and I found much more than I expected.

I found the Journey blog: www.kissesfromkatie.blogspot.com

WOW! I read Katie Davis's blog and her story...amazing the way God is using her in Uganda, amazing her obedience to God's call for her to go and to love.

Here is a small bit from her Jan. 18th post that really hit home for me...

"His perfect timing, now. Now is where He has called us. And we are just not ready yet. We need to clean up the house a bit and pray a little more and seek more counsel and we don’t know how to do that yet and oh, we have our excuses. And God says, “I’m here now, and I am ok with the mess because I am here for the messy.” God doesn’t need us to be ready for Him; He has been ready for us since the beginning of time and the Messiah is here calling us to commune with the Holy One, to eat at His table."

Oh, that I would remember that truth today!

God's timing is perfect. We are called to be obedient to Him now/today...mess and all!

So, I still plan to read the book.

I am thankful that I could not find it locally...what a very plesant surprise!

It was worth the shipping costs :)
